FAVE TRACK OR TRAGIC WRECK? POP hits on Trial!
VX’S VIBE VERDICT
LESSERAFIM HOT
We just reacted to LE SSERAFIM’s latest comeback, HOT, and let me tell you—it’s giving different, but not necessarily in a good way. Compared to Crazy or Easy, this feels like a step in a direction I’m not vibing with. Is it my favorite? No. Is it their best? Absolutely not. And if you’re a die-hard FEARNOT who eats up everything they drop, you’re probably already side-eyeing me.
Let’s be real—HOT should not have been the title track. At all. It’s mid, and that’s me being nice. ASH or COME OVER? Way better choices. ASH, in particular, had so much more creative potential—it could’ve eaten, and yet here we are. HOT lowkey sounds like one of those songs a group puts out right before disbanding… and that ain’t cute.
I’ll give credit where it’s due—the MV concept is solid. Visually, it’s doing what it needs to do. But let’s not pretend like LE SSERAFIM stans weren’t gonna hype up whatever they dropped regardless. That’s just how K-pop fandoms operate these days—either you love it blindly, or you’re fighting for your life in the comment section. And I, for one, welcome the discourse. We can disagree, but let’s keep it cute. 💋
Final word? HOT is lukewarm at best.
MOMENT THAT ATE
MOMENTS THAT SHOULDVE STAYED ON THE PLATE
KG’S VIBE OR FLOP
LESSERAFIM HOT
Okay, so while I don’t fully agree with VX’s take, I do think this song has its own charm. It’s cute, it’s vibey, and it’s the kind of track you can just chill to. If it popped up on my playlist, best believe I’m not skipping. BUT—let’s be real—this did not need choreography. A full-on concept MV with them just serving vocals and vibes? That would’ve still ATE.
Now, do I think HOT should’ve been the title track? Absolutely not. ASH would’ve been the moment. The **title track. The star of the show. This song has its place—it fits a specific mood, a specific setting—but it’s also giving “we’re trying to switch things up” without fully landing it. I see what Le Sserafim is trying to do, stepping out of their usual lane and leaning harder into performance-driven music, but this song? It wasn’t giving that.
And yeah, I already know some of y’all are gonna side-eye me and VX for saying this. But let’s not pretend K-pop fandoms don’t thrive on disagreement. At the end of the day, the song is cute, different, listenable—but best? Not quite.
