Twice in Tacoma: The Chaos, The Rain, and The 7 Rings Moment

Okay, so Twice in Tacoma? It was a damn mess, but in the best way possible. Let’s get into it—first of all, this concert was at the Tacoma Dome in June, and it rained—like, poured. So there we all were, huddled outside, drenched to the bone. And don’t even get me started on those who camped out! Y’all are real ones, but also, I’m pretty sure half of you woke up with a cold the next day. A whole vibe, right?

The concert itself was delayed by an hour. Why? Because they underestimated that Tacoma Dome traffic and security issues. So while some folks waited in the rain for ages, I, thankfully, got in after only 5 minutes of soaking. Shoutout to the Tacoma Dome staff for saving my life and preventing me from catching pneumonia—y’all are the real MVP’s!

Now, everyone showed up dressed to impress, but I didn’t know a Twice was also a whole bro gathering! Seriously, I showed up solo but ended up bonding with some cool people at the venue. The vibe was loud, and no one was happy about Jeongyeong missing due to COVID. My girl wasn’t there, and I felt that in my bones. I was with y’all on that, and I wasn’t the only one who noticed her absence. But guess what? The rest of the girls were on fire. They held it down with such energy that honestly, I almost forgot Jeongyeong wasn’t there. Almost. Momo was giving 100%—full-on fire, no lie. Now, let’s talk solos. Mina—or should I say Sharonsnatched my entire existence with her cover of “7 Rings” by Ariana Grande. It was a moment. I didn’t know Mina had that kind of energy in her, but she had the whole arena screaming for more. Okay, but let’s get real for a second: The visuals and production were mid. Like, what is it with K-pop companies and these half-assed visual setups?

Okay, but let’s get real for a second: The visuals and production were mid. Like, what is it with K-pop companies and these half-assed visual setups? We had big screens, sure, but if you’re sitting way in the back or in the nosebleeds, you’re better off using your phone screen for a better view. Can we please do better next time? It’s 2025, y’all. Even with the chaos, the crowd loved them, and let’s talk about the Tacoma Stomp—if you’ve been to a concert and heard that, you know it’s the highest form of praise. That stomp was like the cherry on top of the night, showing Twice just how much love the Tacoma crowd had for them. Final thoughts: It was a mess, but a good mess. The energy was undeniable, the fans were hyped, and despite the logistical chaos, Twice brought their A-game. Next time? Let’s get the full lineup, all members, and come back. We’ll be waiting.
